LPSO assists in ending Claiborne Parish drug ring

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team was among officers with 13 agencies that participated in Friday’s dismantling of what authorities said was a major drug trafficking operation in Claiborne Parish.
Fifteen people were arrested, including seven on racketeering charges and one on an attempted first-degree murder of a police officer charge after he reportedly shot at officers when they attempted to arrest him.
The arrests capped an eightmonth investigation launched in May 2024 by the Louisiana State Police Bossier Field Office Narcotics, in collaboration with the Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Two of the arrestees are being held for Claiborne Parish in the Lincoln Parish Detention Center, according to arrest affidavits for both men.
LSP Troop G Public Information Officer Trooper Eddie Thomas said in a weekend press release that detectives confiscated seven firearms, approximately $5,000, over 20 grams of crack cocaine, over eight pounds of marijuana, and over a pound of methamphetamine.
