Flag Retirement Ceremony

Members of VFW Post 3715 joined local Boy Scouts in hosting the annual flag retirement ceremony at Owens Memorial Cemetery. Brandon Middleton, new post commander, served as emcee of the event, which was attended by Department of Louisiana District 11 Commander Paula K. Freeman among others. As the prepared flags were placed in the ground and retired by burning, VFW member Ronald Franklin (at top) served as bugler to play Taps. The dignified and solemn event marked Flag Day Monday.
