Tuesday, April 13, 2021

Residents in Ruston reported hearing multiple gunshots near Northern Louisiana Medical Center early Monday morning. Deputy Chief Chad Hamlin with the Ruston Police Department said they did receive a call for gunshots in Zone 2, but no suspects were arrested. He also said there was no property damage or any injuries.

Zone 2 includes the area around NLMC including Farmerville Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

“Investigators did recover a few shell casings, but it was nothing significant or out of the ordinary that we usually get out of that area,” Hamlin said during a phone call.

If anybody has any information regarding the alleged Monday morning shooter or hears gunshots in the future in the city of Ruston, call RPD at 255-4141, or CrimeStoppers at 255-1111.
