DEAR HARRIETTE: My boyfriend of three years proposed to me at my graduation party. It was a complete surprise. While I’m thrilled that we’re now engaged, I’m a little upset that he proposed during a day that was special to me for my own reasons.
In recognition of Gold Star Mothers Day, VFW Post 3615 and its Auxiliary paused to honor those local mothers who have lost a son or daughter in the service of the U.S. Armed Forces. On behalf of the veterans, VFW Commander Tom Boniol presented each mother with a patriotic-themed bouquet of flowers along with a gift certificate to Log Cabin. In a relatively short period of time, the internet has changed the way people live. Things that might have been unimaginable as recently as a quarter century ago are now ingrained in daily life.
