James "Jim" Alan Rentz

James "Jim" Alan Rentz was born August 1, 1933. He went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Ruston. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sarah Taylor Rentz; sons, Alan Rentz of Baton Rouge, David Rentz (Anita) of Chantilly, VA, and daughter, Dee Ann Parvino (Troy) of Mobile, Alabama. He was blessed with seven grandchildren: Jeffery Rentz, Andrew, Emily and Rachel Parvino; Taylor, Kendra and Grafton Rentz. Jim had a passion for writing spiritual poetry.

Josephine Aledia “Jo” Johnson Willis

Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Aledia “Jo” Johnson Willis, 66, will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 7 p.m. in New Zion Baptist Church of Eunice, Rev. Allen Ben - Pastor. Burial will be in Eunice North Cemetery in Eunice. Rev. James Proctor, pastor of First Church of God In Christ of Jeanerette, will be officiating the funeral services. Mrs. Willis died on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Ruston, La. She was a member of Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Thomas Kennedy.

Funeral Services will be held for Brother Bill Riley, 75, of Ruston, Louisiana on Saturday, February 12, 2011, 12:00 noon, at Mays Chapel C.M.E. Church, Ruston, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Grambling Memorial Gardens, Grambling, Louisiana. The family will receive friends at Our Christain Funeral Home on Friday, February 11, 6:00-8:00p.m. Bill Riley was the 3rd oldest child born to the late Emmanuel and Mandy Huey Riley on March 19, 1935 in Bienville Parish.

Margie May Lyons

Margie May Lyons, 77, passed away February 3, 2011 at Glenwood Medical Center.  The funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2011, 2:30 P.M. at Mt. Zion BC #2, Dubach, LA.  Pastor E. C. Morgan will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion BC Cemetery under the direction of Kings Funeral Home, Ruston, LA. On Thursday, February 3, 2011 God saw a need for one of his glorious creations and dispatched one of his angels to the bedside of Margie May Lyons with the command  “Well Done thou good and faithful servant, come home to rest from your labor.

Dollie Laura Bennett Goodling

A memorial service for Dollie Laura Bennett Goodling, 83, of Ruston, will be held Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 3pm at Grace United Methodist Church located at 3401 North Trenton Street, Ruston, LA.  A short visitation with the family will begin at 2pm in the Grace Fellowship Hall. Dollie was born August 1, 1927, in Winnsboro, Louisiana to Bessie and Murry Bennett and passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 after a brief illness.

Cecil Alton Hood

Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Alton Hood, age 80 of Ruston, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Cook Baptist Church in Ruston with Dr. Mike Holloway officiating.  Burial will follow in Pines Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Hood was born November 1, 1930 in Corinth, Louisiana to Eddie and Dora Stephenson Hood.  He died February 9, 2011 in Ruston.  Mr. Hood retired from the Chevron company after 35 years of service.

Lillian Irene Deville

Funeral services for Lillian Irene Deville, 85, of Ruston, LA will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 11, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church in Ruston with the Reverend Hulen Warren officiating the service. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time at the church. Interment will follow in the Monroe Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mrs. Deville was born May 8, 1925 in Bonita, Louisiana and died on February 9, 2011 in Ruston. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs.

Dr. Dale Owen Anderson

Dr. Dale Owen Anderson, 58, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. Born August 1, 1952 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, he was the son of Fern Thacker Anderson and Robert Benjamin Anderson. He married Colleen Watts on December 20, 1975, in the Provo, Utah LDS Temple. They have seven children: Jeff, Heather, Brooke, Kristin, Robert, Lauren, and Becca. After completing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University in 1984, Dale started teaching at Louisiana Tech University. He taught in the Mechanical Engineering Dept.

James Ray Potts

Memorial services for James Ray Potts, age 60, of Grambling will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at China Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 699 Mondy Road, Grambling, LA 71245. Officiating Garnet Wagner. He is preceded in death by father (Robert L. Potts), mother (Lorine Ferguson Potts), and a brother (Robert E. Potts), and survived by his daughters Melanie Potts (Houston, Tx) and Jamica Potts Arceneaux (Grambling, La) and grandchildren, and niece Tracy Potts Bridges and host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Thelma Wade Doles, age 94, of Monroe will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Rev. John Mabray. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery in Farmerville under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mrs. Doles was born January 21, 1917 and passed away February 6, 2011 following a brief illness. Mrs. Doles was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Monroe. She is survived by her husband John A.
