Residents can toss out their paper products to be recycled on Saturday during the city of Ruston and Lincoln Parish’s joint monthly recycling day.

Harris Hotel something old to look new again

At one time it was the hub of Ruston.
Eventually, Dean Norton hopes the downtown area will be that way again.
The Harris Hotel was a Ruston landmark for years, situated downtown on Park Avenue across from the Kansas City Southern Railway tracks. In more recent years it housed Stow’s Bar before the building was closed due to deteriorating conditions.
Norton bought the building with plans to renovate it, and was helped in October when the project received a $10,000 Louisiana Main Street Redevelopment Grant to help with the restorations.
