Bill and Norma Elmore, of Ruston, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday. The couple married Dec. 5, 1969. Bill is originally from Haynesville and Norma, from Monroe. The Elmores have three children: Brian Elmore, Lori Elmore and Jennifer Schuh, and three grandchildren: Will Schuh, 4; Ava Schuh, 2; and Holland Schuh, 6 months.

“Knives Out” bills itself as a whodunit mystery, and to a degree it is, but the “it” in question isn’t what it appears to be. The advertising has let it be known that the film revolves around the death of wealthy mystery author Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) from an apparent suicide.

This being a mystery movie, I went in ready to ask who killed Harlan and staged it to look like a suicide. At the very least, I really hoped that the movie wasn’t going to take the route where Harlan actually killed himself just to make idiots out of people who suspected murder.

RCT sets auditions for ‘Wait Until Dark’

Ruston Community Theatre will hold auditions for ‘Wait Until Dark’ at 10 a.m. Dec. 14 at the Origin Bank Community Room, located at 1511 North Trenton, and 6 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Dixie Center for the Arts.

No prior experience or preparation is necessary. The audition will consist of a cold reading from the script. Those who cannot attend either of these days may call the director at 251-8645 for an alternate arrangement for audition.

All roles are open to all ethnicities.

“Lincoln Lights Up The Pines”

Vintage camper owners and local businesses came together to line the pathways of the Lincoln Parish Park with Christmas lights and decorations Thursday for the first night of “Lincoln Lights up the Pines.” The drive-through display continues Saturday, Dec. 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Cost is $10 per car or $20 per bus, and all proceeds go to park improvements.
