The Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce gathered together with Mid South Pecans Oct. 25 to hold a ribbon cutting at its store, located at 1970 Pea Ridge Rd., in Dubach. Millions of Americans are in an uproar concerning an all-out attempt led by conservative leaders of a number of states to deny citizens their constitutional right to vote in local and national elections. Voting is a constitutional right for which many Black people have been beaten, arrested, and killed.
The fifth grade class of A.E. Phillips Laboratory School held a Veterans Day program Friday afternoon in Howard Auditorium on Louisiana Tech University campus. The class performed more than a dozen patriotic songs, as well as a skit depicting soldiers preparing to come home from deployment. They were led by music teacher Annabelle Toups, and Tracie Ellerman played the piano accompaniment.
