On Friday shortly before 2 p.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating a singlevehicle fatal crash on Hwy. 146 near Nig-Dorsey Road. The crash claimed the life of 82-year-old Geneva Williams of Chatham.

A Ruston man already serving time for having sex with a minor has now pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2015 death of his girlfriend in a separate but apparently related incident.
Weather permitting, the City of Ruston will close the intersection of Kavanaugh Rd. and Arcadia Dr. southbound lane to through traffic starting at 9 a. m. Wednesday until 5 p.m.
