Professor Ira Andrew Lewis (July 5, 1893 to Oct. 14, 1936) was a pioneer in the educational development for Black people particularly in North Louisiana, and specifically in Ruston.

I would be remiss if I didn’t wish the Ruston Rotary Club a happy birthday this week. For 80 years, this civic- minded club has been giving back to the community in a big way with their dedication and thoughtfulness.
