The city of Ruston has announced the left lane of N. Trenton Street from W. Florida Avenue to W. Alabama Avenue will be closed beginning Monday until further notice.

At the beginning of summer, I sat out looking at a newly constructed wiffle ball field at First Baptist Ruston. Crepe Myrtle trees in full bloom outlined the narrow field and a pleasant breeze made it the perfect afternoon for playing America’s favorite pastime - or at least a version of it. I’m not sure if the students participating were giddy from being out of school or being together in such a fun atmosphere. Both of my boys were participating- one had gathered his team of friends and one was the league announcer.
