Parish voters will decide in April the fate of two property tax renewals that generate more than $5 million over 10 years for local schools. The Lincoln Parish School Board on Tuesday unanimously called the referendum April 29 for the Consolidated School Districts No. 1 and No. 3 millages that will expire in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Money received from the millages goes toward general school funds that include pay, some of the construction and technology, among other things, said George Murphy, Lincoln Parish School Board business manager. “This helps fund most of our general funds,”...
