A 73-year-old Choudrant man remains in the Lincoln Parish Detention Center today charged with two counts of first-degree murder following an alleged shooting incident Monday evening. John Nichols, of 6235 Louisiana Highway 33 in Choudrant, was arrested Monday after officers responded to a call from Nichols stating that he just shot two people. Nichols was taken in to custody after Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s officers found Anthony Denicola with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and Rachel Denicola with multiple gunshot wounds as well, according to the police report.
