Louisiana Tech University’s department of music has announced its Alumnus of the Year and Honors Recital soloists, and will feature the honorees at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Howard Auditorium. Tony Boutté was selected as the 2017 Alumnus of the Year. Boutté earned a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance in 1982 and went on to complete graduate studies at the Eastman School of Music and the University of Maryland for his doctorate. He has established himself as a first-rate tenor singer of many styles, including opera, art song, oratorio and chamber music from the Baroque period to today....
