As the week of Thanksgiving arrives, my heart is set upon one small request recently made by DART, and the outpouring of kindness and generosity from our community in response to that need. Sometimes it may seem that our focus lies with the emergency shelter which DART operates, where families who are in danger can come to escape an abusive family member. However, there are many more people served by DART who do not require shelter. They may have moved away from the city or state where their abuser lives, or they may have a safe place to stay while they go through the other necessary...
