The Louisiana Tech University Alumni Association recently emailed Tech alumni asking them to join the Bulldog Alliance in light of further possible budget cuts higher education faces this year.
The association’s Director of Advancement Communications Frank Bennett said the Bulldog Alliance is an awareness movement to motivate Bulldog alumni to speak with their state legislators and voice their opinion on Tech matters.
“It’s a sounding board that unifies the alumni,” he said. “That’s our goal, to unify the alumni.”
The driver of a car in which a Louisiana Tech University student died earlier this month has been charged with vehicular homicide in connection with the incident.
Turki Mohammed Y Qaramish, 23, a Saudi Arabian international student at Grambling State University, also faces a single count of first-degree vehicular negligent injury stemming from the Aug. 7 crash, and one count of failure to appear on an unrelated speeding violation.
