Frances L. “George” Dumas, age 93, of Ruston, Louisiana peacefully passed away on February 6, 2011 after a brief illness. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with the Funeral to follow at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Ruston, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home of West Monroe on February 8, 2011, with pastor Stewart Toms officiating. Frances was born on September 8, 1917 in Mineral Springs, Louisiana. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also worked as a waitress and caregiver. She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Dumas, brother Morel Martin, 2 grandsons Steve Otwell and Casey Dumas, son-in-law Leon McGuyer and daughter-in-law Linda Dumas. Survivors include five children Marguerite and husband Curtis Otwell, Oscar Ragen Dumas, Shirley “City” McGuyer, Nelwyn “Nel” George and husband Keith, Robert Dumas and wife Liz. Sister Irene Coker, sister-in-laws Nellie Dumas and Helen Martin. She also had 15 grandchilren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren and many Nieces, Nephews, and Friends. Pallbearers will be Shannon Dumas, Paul McGuyer, Dennis Otwell, Buddy Burham, Jesse Hadder, and Wayne Coker.
