PUBLIC NOTICE The Lincoln Parish Office
The Lincoln Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) is in the process of updating the Lincoln Parish Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). Made possible by a grant provided through the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), the 2011 HMP Update will build upon the current approved plan. Lincoln Parish has contracted the services of a consulting firm, Witt Associates, to assist with the planning process. The 2011 HMP Update will identify and document potential mitigation opportunities within the Parish, focusing on the reduction of the risks of loss of life, injury, and property damage from natural or human-caused disaster events. The 2011 HMP Update also will provide a foundation for identifying projects suitable for future federal funding as it becomes available, and will address past issues caused by natural and human-caused hazards. Several meetings have already been conducted as part of the planning process, and the first draft of the complete 2011 HMP Update has been prepared.. This draft is now available for public review and comment for a period of thirty (30) days, beginning on Thursday, February 3, 2011 and ending on Friday, March 4, 2011. Since public feedback is critical to this process, a copy of the draft 2011 HMP Update is available for review at the Lincoln Parish Homeland Security Office, Third Floor of the Lincoln Parish Courthouse, 100 West Texas Avenue, Ruston, LA 71270. A draft is also available at http://policejury.lincolnparish.org/hazmit.aspx. Please provide us with your comments as soon as possible. Comments may also be submitted to Jerry Graves of Witt Associates, who can be reached at email@example.com.
