The Lincoln Parish Police Jury Personnel and Benefits Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. today to discuss recommendations for board and commission vacancies before the LPPJ’s regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m.
The committee will recommend James Pilgreen for a five-year term on the Library Board of Control, Keith Barnes for a five-year term on the Greater Ward One Waterworks District and Winston McVea for a five-year term on Waterworks District No. 2. All recommended personnel are incumbents of their respective positions.
DUBACH — The village of Dubach’s town council met in regular session Tuesday night to handle business concerning the town’s water and sewer rates.
The current rate is $10 for the first 3,000 gallons of water used and $3 for each subsequent 1,000 gallons.
On Tuesday, however, the council voted unanimously to approve a water rate increase to $16 for the first 2,000 gallons of water and $4 per 1,000 subsequent gallons. The change will take effect in the April bill, after meters are read in March.
