Notice the title of my column — “Amaya a city boy?”
The title plays on my last name and my New Orleans roots.
In correct grammar, my title asks if I really am a city boy.
When I moved to Ruston in 2010, Ruston’s culture shook me to the core.
I landed in an area known for country twangs, peaches and not a lick of alcohol on Sundays — of course the alcohol rules have changed since then. This is far from the traffic and festivities of New Orleans.
You won’t see it on the calendar, and it doesn’t inspire any greeting cards, but National Save for Retirement Week is here again. The goal of this week is self-explanatory, but what does it mean to you? Are you vulnerable to the possibility of reaching retirement without sufficient financial resources?
