Funeral services for Ethel Elizabeth Adams Duncan Snow, age 94, will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2010 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston with Rev. Hulin Warren officiating.  Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Mrs. Snow  died January 23, 2011 at Alpine Guest Care in Ruston, Louisiana.  She was born January 16, 1917 near Lake City, Arkansas to Joseph and Berthia Adams.  Her mother died the next year.  Three years later her father married Nell Counce Adams. Ethel graduated from Dixie High School.  She married Cecil Duncan in 1940.  She worked twenty three years in Food Service at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  She helped her husband run their farm. They were active members of Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Ethel taught children’s Sunday School.  Cecil died in 1975.  She moved to Lake City where she served many years as a volunteer with the Senior Citizens Center.  She enjoyed gardening, dolls, working with crafts and participating in the Senior Olympics.  She married William Lloyd Snow in 1986.  She and Lloyd moved to Ruston, Louisiana in 2006.  She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph “Joe” Adams, her mother, Berthia McDonald Adams, her stepmother Nell Counce Adams,  her first husband Cecil C. Duncan, second husband William Lloyd Snow, her sister Mabel Adams Hale, and step-brothers;  Rex Adams, Ray S. Adams, and Claud Adams. She is survived by step-son Lloyd Dale Snow and wife Marcella of Ruston; grandson Joseph Snow of Ruston; granddaughter Amanda and husband John Serio of Ruston; two great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Luetta Adams of Lake City, Arkansas. Visitaion in Ruston will be held at Owens Memorial Chapel. The family extends special thanks for the loving care of Mrs. Nita Fields and the staff of Alpine Guest Care, Dr. Ed Mariano, Professional Hospice, and the Pastoral Care Committee of Grace United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held in Jonesboro, Arkansas at Farmers Union Funeral Home, Friday, January 28, 2011 from noon to 1:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Pine Log Cemetery, Brookland, Arkansas at  2:00 pm. led by Rev. G. W. Endicott.  Memorials can be made to a charity of choice or to Pine Log Cemetery Fund, 11656 Hwy 49N, Brookland, AR 72417.
