School Board throws out Modified Block
School Board members voted to rescind a decision to fully implement the Modified Block schedule at Ruston High School for the 2006-07 academic year at Tuesday night’s regular meeting.
The Modified Block, which entails students attend a traditional one-hour class the first period of the school day, followed by two 95-minute “block” periods, then two one-hour periods, is being piloted on RHS freshmen this year. The RHS upperclassmen are still on the Block Schedule, which offers four 90-minute classes each semester.
Bell said he wanted all parish schools to be on the same page.
