Harold Bartlett, former educator and long time resident of Webster Parish, passed away at Willis Knighton Hospital, Wednesday November 10, 2010. He was born June 23, 1926 in Simsboro. Harold was a member of First United Methodist Church, of Minden Lions Club, the VFW, and a mason. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 13, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church in Minden. Officiating will be Rev. John Cannon assisted by Rev. Bob Burgess. Graveside services will be at 3:30 P.M. at Simsboro Cemetery in Simsboro.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday November 12, 2010 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. His two sisters Mornita McCullin and Marie Kyler, two brothers Jim Ed Bartlett and Malcolm Bartlett preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Virginia H. Bartlett of Minden, daughter Schumpert Bartlett of Plano, Texas, granddaughter Tatum Gillespie of Plano, Texas, sisters Mavis Frye of Taylor, Bobbie House of Shreveport, Peggy Johnson of El Dorado, Arkansas, brothers Leon Bartlett of Shreveport, R.C. Bartlett of Calvin. Pallbearers will be Charles Ray “Buddy” McCullin, Don Ed “Sonny” McCullin, Tommy Frye, Steve Bartlett, Mike Bartlett, and Randy Bartlett.
