Locals locked up for charitable cause
Several prominent community members were arrested and locked-up for “good” on Thursday.
The local chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association held their annual MDA Lock-up, during which 40 local residents volunteered to be arrested and bailed out of jail. Ruston Police and Fire departments and the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office helped out by transporting the “jailbirds” to Portico’s and picking up bail donations. Prisoners were treated to a lunch and spent their afternoon at Portico’s calling businesses, friends and community members to obtain donations for their bail.
