Library usage up; state aid down
The Lincoln Parish Library is expected to take a hefty cut in state aid this fall.
During the monthly Library Board of Control meeting Wednesday, library director Vivian McCain reported the facility would receive no more than $13,656 in allocations from the State Library of Louisiana.
The state library each year receives funding from the legislature and then distributes the funding to the other libraries within the state, McCain said. But McCain is unsure the initial report from state librarian Rebecca Hamilton of $13,656 in funding will stay put.
