The game of life
The youth of Ruston hit their “Field of Dreams” Saturday as they participated in the second annual Wilbert Ellis Baseball Camp at Fraser Field.
But this camp was about much more than the horsehide. Around 100 campers learned baseball fundamentals, but more importantly, they learned about the basic skills they’ll need to hit home runs in the game of life.
“I’m thrilled with the turnout, especially in this heat,” said Ellis, a College Baseball Hall of Fame coach who spent years directing the Grambling State Tigers program.
