As the latest step in the struggle to bring Grambling back to a functional municipality was taking place, the mayor was making moves of her own.

She informed city police chief Tommy Clark of his termination via a letter slipped under his office door Friday. As the council hastily called an emergency meeting to reinstate Clark, state police investigators were collecting evidence.

Grambling residents continue to be dissatisfied with their elected leaders, and the whole community is ready for a resolution to the ongoing battle for governmental control.
