Schools’ scores are a mixed bag

The district’s score earned it a label of two stars. In order to earn three stars, a district must have a score of 100.

Louisiana’s long-term goal is for all schools to be designated four stars or above by 2014. This means they must have an SPS of 120 or above. Louisiana’s 2008 Baseline SPS of 86.3 earned it a label of two stars.

Scores among K-8 schools are based on LEAP and iLEAP scores and attendance. For high school, they are calculated from GEE and iLEAP scores and the dropout rates.
