Do your part to give kids a 'Head Start'
During Head Start Awareness Month, teachers and administrators are hoping to highlight the successes of the program and to challenge the community to get involved. Volunteers are needed to read to students, mentor them or just hit the playground and spend a little one-on-one play time.
Men in particular are invited to Head Start on Oct. 29 to interact with the children by playing games or leading physical fitness activities. All local men — of any age, any background — are encouraged to attend.
