Boy shaves head to support friend facing chemo
The eight-year-old learned there would chemotherapy treatments, bone marrow tests and spinal taps. The drugs needed to fight the disease would make his hair fall out. He would stand out like a sore thumb — the only bald kid among his third grade classmates.
Then a friend stepped in to share his burden.
Tanner Stark, also eight years old, decided that if his playmate was going to be bald, he would join him. To seal the pact, the two youngsters paid a trip to Hair Techniques on Tech Drive Tuesday evening and had their heads shaved.
