Louisiana Tech, which not only took on and absorbed evacuating students from fellow state school Nicholls State University but has turned over its old gymnasium to federal emergency health officials for special needs care, is a particular bright spot.

That federal shelter is a well-oiled machine. Doctors are tending to patients who cannot be left without medical care while medical infrastructure in south Louisiana is brought back up to working order. Hopefully for all involved, that will not take too terribly long.
