State funds for Even Start a step forward
Now they’ve done it, though — the Legislature proved it has the foresight to see a good project that has real, tangible benefits and fund it to keep it alive. There’s no excuse at this point for losing that $200,000 next year, or really in the years after.
There must be more. Northeast Louisiana has benefited immensely from the touch of caring educators affiliated with the Northeast Louisiana Family Literacy Consortium, who have trained children and adults of all stripes.
