Targeting financial abuse
Just like any other kind of abuse, financial abuse can take many forms. The abuser may deny his spouse an education to acquire job skills, or if she has a job, he may make her quit it. “You have to spend more time with the children,” he may insist. “Those people you work with are not our kind of people,” he may say. Whatever the stated reasons, the real motive is to increase the victim’s financial dependence on him.
