Police hunt for possible shooter at GSU

Officers have so far been unable to apprehend him or those responsible for multiple fistfights that broke out on campus after 11 a.m. Friday and prompted the campus closure at 3:30 p.m. Gunshots or sounds resembling them were reported at about 1 p.m. Campus reopened at 8 a.m. Saturday.

“We’re still in the process of investigating this,” said GSU Police Chief Jefferson Walker. “We’ve gotten some disinformation, and we’re checking it out.”

Walker said the events of Friday originated on Thursday at The End Zone, an establishment on La. 146 in northern Jackson Parish.
