Jindal supports Sparta project
The goal of the project is to eliminate the Graphic Packaging plant’s use of water from the Sparta aquifer. The plant, which produces cardboard packaging for food and drink, uses 10 million gallons a day from the aquifer and 10 million gallons a day from the Ouachita River.
“This is certainly great news,” Ruston Mayor Dan Hollingsworth said. “But, that does not lessen the need for all of us to find an alternative water source and continue to conserve and look for other solutions.”
