LEAP tests moved for ’09

In Lincoln Parish, Accountability Coordinator Betty Wall said the change could mean a later spring break and graduation dates. Wall said she believes the later testing dates are advantageous to students and teachers.

“We have so many Grade Level Expectations we must teach in each grade, and by testing them in March it doesn’t really give you long enough to teach everything,” Wall said. “The later the testing, the more time you can spend making sure the students know the material and the skills.”

Ruston High Principal Mike Milstead said he is very much for the change.
