Ranking No. 37 out of 61 districts in eighth grade persistence, the Lincoln Parish School District’s ability to keep eighth graders enrolled in school was labeled marginal.

Wall said this could be in part because of faulty paperwork or students who transfer schools in the middle of the year and are recorded as dropouts. The parish ranked above the state in Eighth Grade Persistence, with a score of 97, as compared with the state’s score of 96, which is considered unacceptable.
