Candy, floats fire up festivities
Ruston residents weren’t the only ones in attendance at this year’s parade. Connie Parks, of Hico, came out an hour early to find a spot to support her son, who participated in Bethel Baptist Church’s float. She said the weather wasn’t even a factor to her.
“We had to have a good seat,” Parks said. “I’m about to burn up right now. I’ve been hopping around, yelling for cups and candy and embarrassing my kids.”
Parks attended the parade with other members of Hico Baptist Church, which placed first in last year’s Christmas parade. Despite not being in the parade, she said she enjoyed it.
