Area leaders brainstorm economic development plans for Lincoln Parish
The main theme sounded by most of the featured speakers — who ran the gamut from a U.S. Congressman to the curriculum supervisor for the Lincoln Parish School System — was that proactive measures are needed and forces united for the area to continue its growth.
Ruston Mayor Dan Hollingsworth compared the current effort at economic development to the main character in Don Quixote.
"He got on his horse and rode in all directions," Hollingsworth said. "We don't want economic development to do that. We need to all move in the same direction."
