The seventeenth consecutive observance of National Adult Immunization Awareness Week (NAIAW) begins Sunday and continues through
Sept. 29. Spearheaded by NFID, the week serves to promote immunization as “prevention for a healthier life” for adults and adolescents as a way to help protect against serious diseases such as shingles, influenza and meningococcal meningitis.

So, yes, as it turns out, they don’t go away after entering adulthood.
