Dubach honored for conservation
“We are very proud of the fact that we are doing a much better job conserving water,” Dubach Mayor Margaret Rogers said. “This actually saves the town money because it costs a lot of money to pump this water.”
Rogers said the LRWA comes around periodically and checks how much water the town has pumped and how much it can account for — whether it was sold to homeowners and businesses or hauled in a truck to well.
About four years ago, 67 percent of the water pumped could not be accounted for, due mostly to broken water lines and meters that did not work.
