Suddenlink contract agreement rules change
Ruston City Council members met very briefly on Monday to introduce an ordinance.
City attorney Bill Carter said the ordinance would basically enable the city to adopt the rights of a municipality under a new state statute.
“The state law has changed,” Carter said. “Cable TV and video communications companies can apply for and receive a state certificate that allows them to operate in a certain area instead of having a franchise agreement with the city or police jury.”
