June Mitchell McCoy
June Mitchell McCoy was a native of Ruston and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. She died at 9:00am Friday, June 15, 2012, at Amber Terrace Assistant Living. June was 91. She was a retired Administrative Assistant with American Bank.
Visitation will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Monday from 10:00am until the Right of Christian Burial and Eucharist at 11:00am, conducted the Rev. Canon David Seger. Entombment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
She is survived by her daughters: Marcia Wyatt & husband Richard of Midlothian, Virginia, Lynne Richard & husband Francis of St. Francisville; grandchildren: Conner Wyatt Herman & husband Brad of Washington, D. C., Douglas Wyatt and Jeffrey Wyatt of Richmond, Virginia, Rebecca Richard Pearce & husband Aaron of San Diego, California, and James Richard & wife Blair of Baton Rouge; great-grandchildren: Wyatt, McCoy and Everett Herman, Michael Pearce; sisters-in-law: Lil Mitchell of Shreveport, Anna McCoy of Houston, Texas ; brother-in-law & sister-in-law: Lem & Mary Jane McCoy in Covington; and beloved nieces & nephews.
June was preceded in death by her husband: Martin Everett McCoy, Jr.; son: Martin McCoy III; parents: William LeRoy Mitchell & Alma Long Mitchell; sisters: Eleanor Williams and Leila Craig; brother: William LeRoy Mitchell, Jr.
She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church; graduated from Louisiana Tech University; member of Kappa Delta, Krewe of Iduna.
The family wishes to express thanks to her special caretakers at Amber Terrace and Clarity Hospice.
