Things that caught my eye
Wisconsin recall election
Gov. Scott Walker became the first governor to survive a recall election. Walker campaigned against public sector union collective bargaining excesses when he ran for governor in 2010. He won. His legislative initiative to rein in those abuses was no surprise. Neither was the vengeance with which the unions went against his legislative agenda and, when it passed, him as well. Interestingly, as soon as the recall petitions were certified, the unions campaigned against Walker on everything but collective bargaining.
