Tech falls to Rajin’ Cajuns 11-6
Louisiana-Lafayette (21-5) out-hit Tech 16-12 and was particularly pesky with a two-out situation. Ten of their runs were recorded with that situation, including two each in the first two frames.
“It’s a midweek game, and everybody is going to throw a lot of arms, and they did a good job of scoring on us early,” Tech head coach Wade Simoneaux said. “I thought we did a good job of coming back in the bottom of the eighth.” Included in Tech’s offensive repertoire was the 16th home run of the season for junior outfielder Brian Rike, who leads the nation in that category.
