Parish sales tax collections increase
The Lincoln Parish Sales and Use Tax Commission met May 15 to discuss first- quarter returns.
Jerry Moore, administrator for the Sales and Use Tax Office, stated that returns were acceptable.
“In this economy, nothing is normal,” Moore said. “I had hoped for more, but the increase is not bad.”
Sales tax collections increased by 2.38 percent since last quarter, whereas first quarter audits incurred a 101.42 percent increase. Total collections for the first-quarter period increased by 4.16 percent over last quarter.
