Baskin, Pumphrey exchange vows
Darcy Atwood Baskin, of Little Rock, Ark., and Clinton Robert Pumphrey, of Ruston, recently exchanged vows in a 6 p.m. ceremony April 28 at the Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Anne Holcomb.
Darcy is the daughter of James and Nancy Baskin, of Little Rock, Ark. She is the granddaughter of Juanita McKenzie Baskin, of Gurdon, Ark., the late Joseph DeWitt Baskin, the late Frances Atwood Spickes and the late Marvin Brown Atwood.
Clinton is the son of Dr. Norman and Anita Pumphrey, of Ruston. He is the grandson of Bobbye Brengard, of Paragould, Ark., Robert and Lucile Holley, of Little Rock, Ark. and Col. Norman and Lela Pumphrey, of Pocatello, Idaho.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a light gold de-lustered satin gown with an overlay of ivory alencon lace and her grandmother’s pearls. The gown had a modified sweetheart neckline with a corset-back and a chapel-length train. The bride’s bouquet featured hydrangeas, ranunculus and natural branch material in shades of magenta, lime green, yellow and red.
Serving as maid of honor was Dr. Jessica Lee Miller, of Little Rock, Ark. Mary Frances Yoder, of Little Rock, Ark., Jennifer Lynn Mason, of Fayetteville, Ark., Dr. Andrea Marie Gunderman, of Pearland, Texas, Carrie Lynne Harper, of Little Rock, Ark., and Michelle Dianne Jones, of Cabot, Ark., served as bridesmaids.
The bridesmaids wore Tiffany blue silk shantung dresses. They carried bouquets of hydrangeas, mums and gerbera daises in shades magenta, lime green and red.
The groom’s brother, Scott Nathan Pumphrey, of Ruston, served as best man. Dr. Joel Louis Gallagher, of Charlotte, N.C., Joel Martin Gillaspie, of Oxford, Miss., Benjamin James Hawthorne, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Habtom Ghebre Yohannes Keleta, of Marshall, Texas ,and Jeffrey Taylor Neal, of Little Rock, Ark., served as groomsmen.
Corinne Kennedy Sappington, of Little Rock, Ark., Sara Ann Drew, of Little Rock, Ark., and Ashley Bernette Ralston, of Atkins, Ark., attended the guest book.
Matthew Patrick Smith, of Little Rock, Ark., and the groom’s grandfather,Robert E. Holley, of Little Rock, Ark., read during the ceremony. Ralph S. Wilcox, of Little Rock, Ark., provided the music.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the Albert Pike Hotel in Little Rock, Ark. Prior to the ceremony, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents, at the Cajun’s Wharf in Little Rock, Ark.
Prior to the wedding, the couple was honored with various celebrations.
On Dec. 29, 2011, a Pumphrey family shower was held at the home of Retha Bush in Little Rock, Ark. The shower was hosted by Retha Bush and Sandra Humphreys.
On March 10, a bridal shower was given at the home of Sara Drew in Little Rock, Ark. Sara Drew, Andrea Gunderman, Carrie Harper, Michelle Jones, Jenn Mason, Jessie Miller, Ashley Ralston, Corinne Sappington and Francie Yoder hosted the shower.
On March 17, a Temple Baptist Church wedding shower was held at the home of Ginger Walpole in Ruston. Hosting the showere were Faith Arrant, Sheryl Durrett, Betty Hinton, Donna Hipp, Liz Hood, Becky Langston, Ann Marie Mills, Cindy Murphy, Sherri Pearce, Mary Jane Rogers, Kathy Shealy, Mariam Stone and Ginger Walpole.
On April 27, a bridesmaid’s luncheon was held at the Best Impressions Restaurant at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, Ark. Sherry Kribs and Mary Miller hosted the luncheon.
After a honeymoon in Four Corners, an area that encompasses Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado, the couple will reside in Logan, Utah.
