Southern gardeners may face challenges
In the United States, northern gardeners might think of those of us who garden in the South as being incredibly lucky. We have warm temperatures, lots of sunshine and a long growing season. In addition, there are so many more varieties of plants that we can grow as perennials in the South that would be considered annuals — if they could be grown at all — further north. However, we southerners do have our own challenges with which we must deal when gardening in our sometimes quirky climate.
