Airways open for St. Jude donations
This year’s radiothon goal is $145,000, and Mary Poe, the public service director for the Radio Center, said last year the radiothon’s total funds raised were more than $151,000.
“There are a number of children in the area who have been or are St. Jude’s patients,” Poe said. “We care about kids in the area, and we want to help as much as anyone else. We want to wipe out catastrophic diseases.”
The Radio Center’s station, Z-107.5 FM, will broadcast the radiothon live from Super 1 Foods from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
