Mansions, babies bring new insight to life
After a week together, all the relatives have gone home. I found myself once again having breakfast mid-morning with only Wes and Mary Hilan, drinking coffee and sitting around the table reading the morning paper. My section is the Metro, which is about eight pages, and where I find more local type news.
This time there was a big picture on the front page of a mansion for sale. I am bowled over. The house has 46,000 squarefeet, contains a bowling alley, theater and a staffed beauty salon for milady. Any woman would tell you that is luxury — just dress and go down to get your hair and face made up for the day. There are many other accouterments I don’t have space to mention. Another thing that interested me was that in order to attend the sale of this house you had to pay $250,000.
